Classic Updo

1) Section the front half of your hair off from the rest of you hair.  Secure with Ponytail.

2) Take the section of hair that sits at the crown of your head and begin back combing to create volume.  I take the entire section, and then separate a small top layer from it.  Next I back comb a lot to create a good amount of volume.  Finally, I take the small top layer I removed previously and comb it over the teased mound.  This helps to keep the hair looking sleek and smooth.

3) Bobby pin to secure.  Be liberal with the pins, you don’t want the poof going anywhere.  Then it looks sloppy, not classic.

4) Take the section from step one, and part it.  I parted down the middle, but feel free to side part.

5) Pull each front section to the side, and back.  Secure with bobby pins.

6) Pull your remaining hair into a low bun.  Secure with bobby pins.  Spritz with hairspray.

Now take your classy hair out to a classy cocktail party!

Bow Bun 

This is advanced and would probably be better as a video (I’m working on it!).  In the mean time, bobby pins, hairspray, and patience go a long way! Feel free to ask questions.

1) Pull hair into high ponytail.  I like to put it slightly to the side so the bow rest sideways. 
2) Take another ponytail holder and pull your hair halfway through, creating a bun with the excess hair landing in the front. 
3) Pull the sides of the bun down to begin to form the bow. 
5) Bring the excess hair from the front to the back, and tuck into ponytail holder.  Neatly pin the remaining hair around the base. 
6) Pin the sides of the bow into place.  Pin any part of the bow that moves to secure the bow. Don’t be afraid to mold and shape the hair— just pin and spray and you should be good to go!

Choose Your Own Adventure

Stop anytime or go all the way for a low braided bun with a poof.

1) Take the front section of your hair and back comb it to create volume, and a poof.  Secure with bobby pins.

2) Pull the rest of your hair into a sleek side ponytail.  Enjoy this look, or continue on…

3) Loosely braid the ponytail, and secure with a ponytail holder.  Rock this summer do’, or continue on…

4) Wrap braid into a bun, and secure with bobby pins.  Cheers to you, you sexy thang (you sexy thang)!

Braided Bun

1) Start with day old hair.  If it is more than a day old, feel free to use dry shampoo to absorb some oil.  I used Oscar Blandi.

2) Use a comb to pull your hair into a tight ponytail that sits high on your head.  

3) Braid the ponytail and secure with ponytail holder.

4) Wrap braid into a bun, and secure with bobby pins.  Cheers!
